You’re bigger
than you look.

Most good businesses are worse online than they are in person. We exist to close that gap, and to keep it closed.

Your website and your office, in one place.

The follow-up, the automations, the content, the numbers — and the site itself, built in rather than sold to you as the whole job.

A website is the part people can see, which is why almost everyone sells you one and stops. It is also the smallest part of what makes a business look serious. What actually decides that is whether the enquiry gets answered, whether the follow-up happens, whether the numbers are somewhere you can read them on a Tuesday morning. We build the layer that does all of it, and we keep running it.

What you actually buy

One place, not nine tabs.

Every package includes the PoshLayer Desk: one login holding your site’s pages and photos, your enquiries, your invoices, your project and its milestones. What sits inside it changes with what you bought — not everyone needs a shop, or a booking engine, or a phone that answers itself.

On top of that we map your own repeated processes into single actions. The thing you currently do in four places at nine o’clock becomes one button, and then it is our job to keep it working.

How we work

Three rules we do not bend.

  1. Integrate, never replace

If a thing works, it stays. We build around the till, the booking system, the spreadsheet somebody has kept for nine years - because the cost of ripping those out is paid by you, in weeks, and the benefit is mostly ours.

  2. We size the hole, never the fix

We will show you what your current setup is losing, in your own numbers. We will not put a figure on what fixing it would earn you. Anyone who does is guessing, and charging you for the guess.

  3. You own it, we drive it

Your domain, your accounts, your data, in your name from the first day - held by permissions you can revoke, never by passwords we keep. We do the work for you, not to you.

What we put in writing

Live on the date on your order — or we work free until it is, and your first month of care is on us.

That is a term of the contract rather than a line on a website. So are these — each one is a clause of the Terms of Business, which is published in full rather than sent once you have paid.

  • Your domain is yoursRegistered in your name and transferable to you at any time, including in the middle of a dispute.
  • You leave with everythingA full export of your content and design assets, plus a static copy of your site, within fourteen days.
  • No exit fees, everThirty days’ notice after the minimum term, and nothing to pay for leaving.
  • No price rise in termNever during the minimum term. After it, at most once in twelve months, with sixty days’ notice.

Who we build for

Businesses that are already good.

Premium local professionals. Ambitious trades. Brands that sell direct. Established shops. Hotels, restaurants and venues. Agencies who would rather put our work under their own name.

Thirty-three trades, each with its own version of the same problem, and none of them served by a template with their logo dropped into it. What we are not is the cheapest — there is always someone cheaper, and you can usually see which one they used.

Who is behind it

One name on it.

PoshLayer is founded and run by PJ Rankin. On our highest tier the named accountable person is him, which is a real constraint and the reason we say it out loud: there is a ceiling on how many of those we take, and we would rather hit it than staff around it.

Specialist studios sit behind the one relationship. You deal with PoshLayer, get one invoice, and never manage a supplier.
