How your project runs

The four stages

Every build moves through the same four stages: Discovery, Build, Review, Launch.

Discovery

We confirm goals, style and content, either on a call or from the brief you fill in. This is where the decisions that are expensive to change later get made.

Build

Design and build happen together. You will see the real thing taking shape rather than a flat mockup of it, because the mockup and the site would be two different pieces of work and only one of them is what you are buying.

Review

You go through the finished work and we refine the details.

Launch

We deploy it, hand it over, and agree what happens next.

There is deliberately no separate Design stage. Design is not a phase that finishes before building starts; it is what building is, and the direction is agreed in Discovery.

Where you can see it

You get a dashboard. It shows your project, the four stages and which one you are in, your files, your invoices, and anything waiting on you.

It is the same view we work from, not a summary written for you afterwards. If a stage moves, you see it move.

You can reach it from any device, and you never need to ask where something is up to.

What we need from you

Three things, and the project moves at the speed you supply them.

Content: the words, images and anything specific to your business. If you do not have it, say so early and we will work out what to do rather than waiting.

Access: your domain, and any accounts we need to connect. This is the one that most often adds a week, because it usually sits with someone who is not in the conversation.

Decisions: at Discovery and at Review. Both are short, and both hold everything up if they wait.

Reviews and changes

Changes are expected and are part of the Review stage. Tell us what is wrong and we fix it.

What costs time is a change of direction rather than a change of detail: swapping a colour or rewriting a paragraph is quick, and rethinking what the page is for is a new brief. Neither is a problem, but only one of them fits inside the original timeline.

If a request would change the scope, we say so before doing it, with what it means for the date and the price. You will not receive a surprise invoice.

Payment and invoices

You pay through a normal card checkout, and every invoice and receipt appears in your dashboard.

Smaller projects are paid up front. Larger ones take a deposit to start, with the balance before launch. Care plans are monthly and you can see exactly what is included in yours.

Where a build includes ongoing care, the first month is charged with the setup on one page, so you are never asked to choose between paying once and subscribing.

After launch

Launch is a handover, not a goodbye. If you are on a care plan, we keep the site updated, monitored and improved, and you have a route to ask for changes without starting a new project each time.

If you are not on one, the site is yours and it keeps working. Come back whenever you need something.

Who owns it

You do. On handover the site and its content are yours.

That includes the domain, the words and the images. There is no lock-in that makes leaving expensive, and asking for your own work back is not a negotiation.
